Pulp - They suffocate at night - Ltd 12"Single

£14.95
12" Blue and yellow split vinyl. 45rpm. Download code. ‘They Suffocate At Night’ was the first single in the build up to the release of ‘Freaks’, Pulps first album to be recorded whilst signed to Fire. The release was much darker to that of their debut album ‘It’, but a lot had changed in the 3 years since. By this time every member bar Jarvis had moved on but the addition of Russell Senior proved to be a pivotal turning point for the band. No longer did Pulp sound pastoral, easy-natured; now they were darkly romantic, brooding, noisy and a little bit Gothic, in the way young folk who brush their hair a certain way are always a little bit Gothic. Pulp were out-of-tune with the times: but the times didn't satisfy Pulp. It was here, possibly even more than 1992's Separations, that Pulp started coming into their own as a band with a fully-realised aesthetic. Now repressed for the first time since 1987, ‘They Suffocate at night’ is available exclusively for RSD 2015 on blue and yellow split vinyl. 1. They Suffocate at Night 2. Tunnel
