Most critics consider the first Aerosmith album a bit of a bunt, and the band weren't happy with it at the time. Certainly the next four records were able to capture their raw live sound better.

But you simply cannot take away from the song writing and playing chops on display here, and this album contains perma-classics Dream On and Movin' Out so it's still an essential buy.
